Well folks, that’s it! We have our thirty-seven songs, and today’s announcement of the running order (see here for a breakdown) has given us the green light to kick off what we envisage will become an annual feature here on ESC Views: the pre-contest vote!
This article is just a quick little explanation of what we are planning to do and – more importantly – how YOU can get involved!
Obviously, between March and May, the internet will be FLOODED with various Eurovision votes and countdowns, as it seems to be the main activity we fans engage in to combat the April drought. We’d love to get involved with all of this of course, so we’re launching our own collective pre-contest vote! Here’s how it will work:
- We will post a really short summary article of two competing entries per day (in the running order announced today)
- Contained within these articles will be a poll where you can rate the song in typical Eurovision style – 12 points down to zero!
- Your votes will be combined with those of Rory and myself in the 50/50 style of Melodifestivalen (you guys are the metaphorical televote, we’re playing the role of the juries!) to bring us a complete ESC Views Top 37, which will be presented to you in a fabulous little scoreboard video posted to YouTube towards the end of April. This will hopefully represent the views of both ourselves and our lovely readers to the best of our ability!
- You guys will be able to rate every single entry between 12 and 0 – this includes your own country, and you can award points to more than ten songs.
So, without further ado: get voting, dear reader! This article will be continuously edited with links to the voting page for each competing country, so do keep checking back here to make sure you don’t miss out on supporting your favourite entries!
May the best song win!
