Well hello there! Welcome to the seventh summary article in ESC Views’ Pre-Contest Vote 2014! If you haven’t heard about it and how this entire system will work, feel free to click this fabulous link to take you to the ‘Launch Page’ of the competition. As we manage to compile more and more of these articles, they will be added to the Launch Page, so you can freely hop between all competing 37 entries! Right, shall we get onto yet another country?

This is how we’re running this series of articles in which we’re going to cover all 37 entries for this year:
- We’re going to take on these articles in the running order for 2014 (Armenia is first, Latvia is second etc). We’ll do two articles a day.
- We’ll refer back to the Song Presentation or NF Review of the song. We’ll provide you with the video so you can have a listen (if you haven’t managed to listen to it yet…which is highly unlikely!)
- We’ll also give you a few words from both of us while giving the song a score out of 12.
- Finally, there’ll be a poll below for you guys to vote and give us your points on the song!
Got it? 🙂
Sorry for not posting any introduction articles yesterday – we were both very busy! But today, we’re gonna make up for the lack of introduction articles by providing you with no more than four introduction articles! First up is Russia, who will be represented by the Tolmachevy Twins, who won the Junior Eurovision in 2006. The twins will sing their song “Shine” in Copenhagen and because it was the last song that was released, we were actually unable to do an article about the song in the midst of all the Conchita-ness.. *awwwwkward*, so today, we’ll give you a more detailed comment about what we think of “Shine”. If you haven’t heard it yet, have a listen below!
Our opinions:
Rory – Okay, I know they won Junior Eurovision and such, but this…sorry girls, I’m just not liking this! What happened to the days of “Vesenniy Jazz”, because when I listened to that, it made me feel all happy and fun, but this…this is just pretty mediocre for me. Sure, they sing it well, but the song’s just not my cup of tea. And that video…not to hate on the Russians, but will you please make a better video? Spasibo! Score: 2 points out of 12.
James – I’ve only listened to this one twice, and I genuinely can’t remember anything about it. Were this any other country, it would flop, but as it’s Russia, I’m bracing myself for it to achieve a disproportionately successful result. Score: 2 points of 12.
So now that you know what we think of the Russian song, what do you think of it? Tell us by voting in the poll!
Did you vote? Well by the end of this series, we’ll know how many of you fans love/like/hate Russia’s song! However, stay tuned to ESC Views today, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Belgium are to follow!
If you’d like to share your opinions on Russia’s song, please feel free to comment below or vote in the poll!
