Well hello there! Welcome to yet another summary article in ESC Views’ Pre-Contest Vote 2014! If you haven’t heard about it and how this entire system will work, feel free to click this fabulous link to take you to the ‘Launch Page’ of the competition. As we manage to compile more and more of these articles, they will be added to the Launch Page, so you can freely hop between all competing 37 entries! Right, shall we get onto the next country?
This is how we’re running this series of articles in which we’re going to cover all 37 entries for this year:
- We’re going to take on these articles in the running order for 2014 (Armenia is first, Latvia is second etc). We’ll do two articles a day.
- We’ll refer back to the Song Presentation or NF Review of the song. We’ll provide you with the video so you can have a listen (if you haven’t managed to listen to it yet…which is highly unlikely!)
- We’ll also give you a few words from both of us while giving the song a score out of 12.
- Finally, there’ll be a poll below for you guys to vote and give us your points on the song!
Got it? 🙂
Next up in our pre-Contest Vote is the other country that’s making a return to the Eurovision stage this year – Poland. After a lot of rumours and a photo which practically gave the whole thing away, Poland will be represented by Donatan (who actually won’t be on stage in Copenhagen) and Cleo who’ll sing their viral hit “My Słowianie” or “Slavic Girls” in English. The Polish version has managed to garner a massive 40,000,000 views+ on Youtube as of the release of this article, with the video featuring women churning with their fake boobs and all..if you haven’t heard “My Słowianie” yet, have a listen below!
Rory – “My Słowianie” is my ultimate favourite of this year, for sure – it’s at LEAST five times better than my #2, the UK. The song just oozes sassiness and although the video doesn’t particularly appeal to me, I absolutely love Cleo’s hair and her voice is amazing live! I’ve done my own cover of the song, but it obvious isn’t as good as either the original or this other fantabulous cover! Just..wow.. I’m in love. Why haven’t we been asked to be backing singers?! Score: 12 points out of 12.
James -Okay, so there really are no words for how sassy and downright AWESOME this Polish song is! Cleo’s live vocals are fierce too, and they really have given themselves the best chance of success in choosing such a popular local song as their Eurovision entry. Really really hope they qualify!! Score: 12 points of 12.
So now that you know what we think of the Polish song, what do you think of it? Tell us by voting in the poll!
Did you vote? Well by the end of this series, we’ll know how many of you fans love/like/hate Poland’s song! However, stay tuned to ESC Views today, as James will be taking on Austria!
