Well guys, it seems we have yet another artist confirmed for the Contest in Vienna! The representatives will be called given the group name ‘Genealogy’, and includes an Armenian from every continent, as well as Armenia itself. The song title has also been revealed and in the first semi-final, the song will be titled “Don’t Deny”! This video can elaborate more on the subject, as it’s produced by the Armenian broadcaster itself!
So why is it called Genealogy? Well this year is the 100-year-anniversary of Armenians being separated for many different reasons, and this project will try to bring Armenians together through the power of music. I know the slogan for this year’s Eurovision is “Building Bridges”, but isn’t that pushing it a bit? Each member of the group will be from each continent; Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and America, with a sixth member coming from Armenia itself. However, who those members are won’t start to be disclosed until the 16th of February – this coming Monday…so Armenian fans, better brace yourselves!
We also know the name of the song, “Don’t Deny”. However, the exact date of the song’s release won’t be released for another while yet…I wonder what the lyrical content might contain? We’ll just have to wait and see!
So what do you think? Are you happy with the selection in Armenia? Or did you have a particular singer in mind to represent them? And what do you think the song might sound like? Be sure to let us know what you think by commenting below!
